Starfield Early Access
What you must know? Starfield’s research restrictions have been lifted. As of this writing, the game has received mostly positive reviews, although some critical responses have been mixed.
Starfield’s launch date is September 6, 2023. Xbox and PC gamers have been waiting months, if not years, to get their hands on Starfield, Bethesda’s open-world action RPG focused on space exploration.
Starfield Early Access will start tomorrow for those who purchased the Premium Edition. Before that, review restrictions have been lifted and many reviews are already available to read.
The reviews weren’t great, but some were mixed, leading to a total Metascore of 87. More critical reviews will be published throughout the day and may change what is currently seen on Metacritic at the time of writing.
In our Starfield review, editor Jez Corden gave the opportunity a score of 90%, noting that the rich world of the game is filled with some of Bethesda’s best environmental projects. It also praises space combat and improved gunnery.
However, he says that the main plot takes too long to gain interest and that the strange voice acting undermines the “ugly and intense” NPC presentation.
Of the Starfield scores recorded on Metacritic at the time of writing, 7 critics gave Starfield a 100% rating. However, most reviewers gave the game a rating between 80% and 90%.
Meanwhile, DigitalTrends, GameSpot, and PCMag all gave the game a 70% rating, making it one of the lowest Starfield ratings on record to date. This gives Bethesda’s latest game an excellent Metascore score of 87%, as mentioned earlier.
